Footwell Module Failure Description

Typical symptoms of a bricked FRM are power windows/mirrors not working, lights not working or staying on and no communication with BMW compatible OBDII scanner.
FRM module commonly fails due to drops in voltage. This can be caused by a flat battery, jump starting, disconnecting the battery and sometimes during diagnostics or programming.

Common Symptoms of a Faulty Footwell Module

2. Front power windows not working.

How to determine if your Footwell Module is Damaged (Burnt or Corroded)

1. Corrosion will be present due to water ingress. It will show as green and white residue.
2. Inspect each of the (3) connectors for corrosion. Inspect both the male and female ends.
3. Carefully disassemble the module and inspect the main board inside and all components.
4. Corrosion or burning is indicative of water ingress or an external short circuit.
